As practical as it is beautiful. Sustainable and handcrafted with eye for detail.. Our products are designed to pass on from generation to generation, as an heirloom.

Natural, organic, comfortable and absolutely beautiful. We develop our products with the idea that they should last for generations. Our designs are therefore always timeless and unisex.

About us

Nowadays our daily life is shaped by an endless stream of new, often ephemeral things. We long for the "good old things." With the quality of the past, when things were still made to last for more than a lifetime. Which we can hold in our hearts and pass on to the next generation with love. A piece of family history.

This need arose because of a family heirloom that had not survived a number of relocations. A beautiful rattan cradle. Ten years later, with a son on the way, the search for such a rattan cradle was started, to replace the family heirloom that was no longer there. Unfortunately, we did not find a rattan cradle at the time.

When our son was 2 years old, a similar search was started. This time for a rattan toddler bed. But even then we did not find what we were looking for. That's how we came up with the idea of designing vintage-inspired rattan furniture for children ourselves. We found a professional workshop where craftsmen and women with years of knowledge and experience work with great passion. With designers who were able to convert our ideas into a design and with professionals who can create high-quality furniture pieces by hand. And so the first product was created: Rattan Toddler Bed Sam. Named after our oldest son.

Our name Cokos...

The name of our brand "Cokos" is also inspired by our oldest son. During pregnancy, we always joked that he was going to be called "Co". This, in combination with his surname "Kos", formed the name Cokos, pronounced coconut in Dutch. Of course this was not the name we had in mind for him, but it turned out to be the perfect name for our brand!

A unique look behind the scenes

Making rattan furniture is a complex process. One that is worked on with a lot of craftsmanship and passion by our craftsmen and women in Indonesia.

We think it is a shame that relatively little is known about this process. Did you know, for example, that bending the rattan lianas in the shape that we have chosen for our Rattan Toddler bed Sam, takes 1 day per bed?

We are happy to invite you to follow this process through our Instagram and Facebook accounts.
